Ceramic house numbers.
Ceramic house number, this is a polychrome pattern of traditional inspiration with a zig zag border in the Romanian colors. The rooster on the left, originally a solar symbol, used to be found on the weathervane of houses.
Tradition tells us that Pope Nicholas I (ca. 850) decreed that all churches should have a rooster on the roof. From here the custom was transmitted to lay Christians who took it over to beautify their homes.
